SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A storm brought hail to parts of western Massachusetts Sunday evening. 22news is working for you with what insurance coverage, you need, to cover any damage hail could cause to your car.
The hail hit several towns, some reaching reports said that some hail was as big as a half-dollar, about an inch and a quarter, and that can leave dents to the body of your car.
The hail was reported in Southampton, Holyoke, West Springfield, Chicopee, and both Longmeadow and East Longmeadow.
It ranges in size from a pea to a half dollar. Hail that size requires a specific kind of car insurance coverage, according to one insurance expert.
Kyle Sullivan of JM Glover Agency in Holyoke said if you don't have comprehensive, any damage from Sunday nights storm won't be covered.
"With the comprehensive you have storm coverage, you have fire, you have theft and sometimes vandalism; these are all coverage's that would fall under this," Sullivan said.
He said if you did have damage Sunday evening, make sure you get in touch with your insurance agent as soon as you can to get the claim going, not everyone had damage.
