SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A 22News follow up now on a story we first broke on wwlp.com, a dog found in trash bag a construction site in Springfield is on the mend.
This three year old female poodle, now named Buffy, was dehydrated and emaciated when she was found Tuesday morning, but on Wednesday she's showing signs of improvement.
Dakin Humane Society Executive Director Leslie Harris told 22News Buffy appears to be bouncing back from a traumatic experience, “The dog is doing much better today, she seems to be much more alert, she's able to eat and stand and she has been shaved so her mats have been removed and she's a little more comfortable she seems like she's on the mend."
There's been a lot of interest in adopting Buffy, but she's not ready to go home quite yet.
She's still under supervised care but the vet hopes she'll be ready to be placed in a forever home soon.
