SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Carlos Gonzales Beslanga was stabbed to death on Cumberland Street in Springfield. His three children witnessed the murder. Now, a manhunt is underway for the alleged killers.
22News spoke with the victim's grief stricken widow.
"My son was telling me, Mommy, my Daddy passed away. I don't have a Dad anymore. He was saying he was the best Dad ever and he was," said Mayraliss Padilla.
On Saturday at 4:30 p.m. police found 32-year-old Carlos Gonzales Beslanga, lying in a pool of blood. He was stabbed in the heart in the alleyway next to the home where his family lives at 62 to 66 Cumberland Street. He was visiting from his home in Newington, Connecticut.
Police rushed Beslanga to Baystate Medical Center, just 15 seconds away from the place where he was stabbed. But it was too late to save his life.
"I don't want to come outside anymore. My kids go to the park around here. It's a completely unsafe neighborhood. This happened two houses down so I'm just speechless," said Heather Gauthier who lives in the neighborhood.
Beslanga was just about to leave his family's home. He packed the kids in the car. But before he drove away, he had to go to the bathroom. So instead of going back inside the home, he relieved himself in the alleyway alongside the family home.
Thats when he was confronted by the two suspects, who live in a nearby apartment. A profanity laced argument ensued. Eventually one of the suspects pulled out a large knife.
"Tito came with a knife and stabbed my husband. Right here in front of my kids. My kids are devastated. My son doesn't even know how to take this anymore. My daughter, my kids witnessed the murder," said Mayraliss Padilla.
She says she used to be best friends with the female suspect. They grew up together. Now she feels betrayed. Padilla said she also knew the male suspect who she calls, 'Tito.'
Through tear filled eyes she looked at pictures of her husband on her cell phone.
"This was senseless," said Padilla."My husband didn't do anything."
Now, a manhunt is launched to bring justice to Beslanga's alleged killers.
Police are scouring the city streets for 37-year-old Luis Cintron and 33-year-old Noemy Ramos.
The suspects got away in a white Honda Accord. If you have any information, you're asked to call Springfield Detectives at 787-6355 or you can anonymously text-a-tip.
