WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) - 22News continues its coverage on the Memorial services for Wilbraham native, Amy Lord. The 24 year-old was kidnapped and murdered in Boston last week.
On Tuesday at 10 A.M., a funeral mass will be held at St. Cecilia's Parish to honor Amy's life. The church is located at 42 Main St. in Wilbraham. After the service, a private burial will be held in Indian Orchard.
22News will have live coverage of the funeral procession, here on our website and on WWLP 22News, with reporters Laura Hutchinson and Anaridis Rodriguez.
Calling hours were held Monday night for Lord at the Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home in Springfield. Hundreds of friends and neighbors came out between 3 P.M. and 7 P.M. to pay their respects to Amy and her family. Visitors say there were at a loss for words.
"It's every parents' worst nightmare...I don't know what else to say", said Tony Fimognari of Wilbraham.
"It's just such a horrible tragedy...hard to grasp--especially those of us with children of similar age. Our hearts are just breaking for the Lord family", added Wilbraham resident, Betsy Davison.
If you'd like to make a memorial contribution, in honor of Amy, her family has listed two funds:
- "The Christopher James Burnham Fund" (P.O. Box 13 Wilbraham, Mass. 01095).
- "The Friends of Mike Farrell" (P.O. Box 963 Wilbraham, Mass. 01095).
