Six people are homeless Sunday night after a fire at their Springfield home.
Aide to the Fire Commissioner Dennis Leger told 22News, just before 6:30 PM a fire started in the kitchen on the second floor of 166 Quincy Street. It's a two family home.
The fire burned through the second floor and caused water and smoke damage on the first floor.
A woman and her three sons live on the second floor; another woman and her daughter live on the first floor. They've all temporarily homeless.
The Red Cross is helping both of those families with food, clothing and a place to stay.
