WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A late night fire in Westfield reduced a building owned by the Western Mass. Truss Company to ruins.
The fire started at around 9:30 P.M. Thursday at the business, located at 100 Apremont Way. The large, warehouse-like building had a lot of power equipment and lumber inside.
Westfield Deputy Fire Chief Mark Devine told 22News that they don't know how the fire started, but Fire Marshal Mike Mazza will be investigating the cause on Friday.
The fire destroyed the building, and blown embers also caused some damage to the nearby Martin's Floor Covering building.
Firefighters told 22News that the wind that they had to deal with made it much more difficult to control the fire.
No one was inside the building at the time of the fire, as all workers had gone home by 3:30 P.M.
