SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) - Former Springfield Mayor Theodore Dimauro has died at the age of 80.
Dimauro, a lifelong Springfield resident and a practicing attorney in the city for more than fifty years, died at home.
Dimauro was a three term Springfield mayor having served from 1978 to 1984. He had also been elected to the city council and the Massachusetts governor's council.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday, September 10th from 4-8 p.m. at Forestiere-Smith Funeral home at 220 North Main Street in East Longmeadow.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 11th from the funeral home at 8:30 a.m followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 123 William St., Springfield with Entombment in St. Michael the Arch Angle Mausoleum at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Springfield.
