SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Friends of the Homeless in Springfield has been providing temporary shelters and hot meals to homeless men and women for 25 years.
Tuesday night they celebrated their 25th anniversary with a benefit dinner.
Executive Director Bill Miller said the shelter began small, but they've now become a go-to resource center for people who need some help getting back on their feet.
"We have computer access and phone access for them, and in this day and age, you have to be tech savvy. You have to be able to apply for jobs online. You have to be able to get your phones messages during the day, so we have those resources available for people," Bill Miller told 22News.
Friends of the Homeless relies on donations.
