SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Saturday, 22News reporter Elysia Rodriguez took part in a 60-mile bike ride.
It was training for next weekend when Elysia will take part in the 'Ride to Remember.'
It's a more than 100 mile bike ride from Springfield to Boston to honor the memory of former Springfield Police Officer Kevin Ambrose and former Westfield Police Officer Jose Torres.
Both were killed in the line of duty last year.
At Nathan Bill's restaurant in Springfield on Saturday, a fundraiser was held to raise money for next weekend's ride.
They had a table set up selling t-shirts, pins and wrist bands.
It was an opportunity for all the riders to meet up and socialize before they embark on their challenging journey.
Kyle Ambrose, the son of Officer Kevin Ambrose, told 22News, “I asked them just to donate some money in order to support my ride and they decided to do the fundraiser instead and raise a bunch of money and try to help support the ride to remember and also help support their business as well.”

On Saturday, September 21st, we'll be streaming the entire ride.
