WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Hard Rock has opened a new office in West Springfield as they begin their "West Side Yes" campaign.
Hard Rock opened its campaign headquarters on Westfield Street. Tuesday night's grand opening is the start of their Vote "Yes" campaign.
Last week the West Springfield Town Council voted to approve the casino referendum date. Voters will head to the polls on September 10th to answer a "Yes" or "No" question.
Hard Rock hopes to use this new office to rally community support for its $800 million resort casino proposal on the "Big E" Fairgrounds.
From the headquarters, volunteers will be making phone calls to West Springfield voters.
To continue with its application for the single western Massachusetts gaming license, Hard Rock needs the voters to approve its host agreement.
Hard Rock N.E. President Tim Maland told 22News, "This is a place for people to gather, to get more information and also to communicate outbound. To talk to their neighbors and friends and families and communicate all the benefits that they understand the city will enjoy."
Wednesday at 7:00PM there will be a community open house at the West Springfield Middle School. Hard Rock's CEO Jim Allen will be here to discuss to host agreement.
