SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - A South Hadley school production is causing nationwide controversy.
The Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Public Charter School is holding a production of a play that retells the biblical story of Genesis with gay characters.
Despite email petitions and phone calls the school said the comedy "The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told" will go on as scheduled.
Some have planned to protest.
But others say, let them.
Caitlin Canty says, "It'd be good for business why not, maybe they'll have a full audience. I really don't see why it could be a problem and who would be offended. I'm surprised around here too, such a strong pretty liberal leaning community. "
