SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Baystate Medical Center says its Hospital of the Future is on time and on budget thanks to advanced computer modeling.
The hospital utilized Building Information Modeling (BIM), which created a 3D life-sized version of the plans before any concrete was actually poured.
They say the program shows potential conflicts, which traditionally only turn up after construction begins.
The wing of the hospital is expected to open up in 2012, with its new cardiac and vascular center with inpatient beds.
