HOLYOKE, Mass (WWLP) - Holyoke high school students are devastated by the death this weekend of their friend and classmate, 15 year old Halee Hilton.
Classmates held a silent candlelight vigil Saturday night in front of the gutted Glen St. house where Halee died in the fire hours earlier.
The young people had tears in their eyes as they remembered their friend.
There was a memorial set up in front of the house, which included photographs of the young fire victim and mementos that the high school freshman had treasured.
Halee's sister Brittany told 22News what she'll remember most about his sister.
"She had the best heart. She cared about people with everything; she loved people with all of her heart. She never gave up on people. She was always caring about people, best way to remember, her kind heart." said Brittany Hilton.
These young people will gather again to honor their friend when Halee Hilton is laid to rest.
As of now 22News waits for word about the funeral arrangements for Halee.
