HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - There's a new deputy in town. Holyoke's new police dog "Ryker" demonstrated on Saturday what he can do to help the city's men and women in blue catch crooks and investigate crimes.
Families gathered at Community Field to see what Ryker can do as part of the city's Community Policing Unit. Onlookers told 22News, they have no intention of getting on Ryker's wrong side and will stay on the right side of the law. 22News found out something interesting about Ryker
“Ryker is our first canine. We haven't had a canine in about ten years. He's gone through extensive training,” said Matthew Moriarty of the Holyoke Police Department.
Ryker will travel in style in his own police car and have his own driver whenever Ryker's services are needed.
