HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Western Massachusetts drivers can expect a lot of difficult driving on Interstate 91 in Holyoke for many months to come.
There have been several accidents reportedly caused by the highway lane changes. In the latest, a car rolled over near Exit 14 just last Thursday. Some drivers told 22News that the problem isn't the shifting of lanes.
“Roads have to get fixed. Everything wears down, gets broken up from time to time, but when you have crazy drivers and crazy people, It makes It more and more difficult,” Robert Clary of Chicopee said.
Late Wednesday afternoon, Massachusetts Department of Transportation spokesman Michael Verseckes told 22News that this work is part of substantial Interstate 91 improvement program. which is not expected to be finished until June of 2015.
