LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Longmeadow police need your help to find the man they believe robbed a bank on Route 5 Thursday afternoon.
Police Capt. John Stankiewicz told 22News that around 3:30 P.M. the suspect walked into the Hampden Bank branch on Longmeadow Street and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect implied that he had a weapon, but he did not show one. He left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a black man about 6' tall, with a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a dark coat and a Red Sox baseball cap. He was last seen walking east on Bliss Road.
If you have any information, you are urged to call the Longmeadow Police at (413) 567-3311.
The robbery comes less than a week after police say a woman robbed the Berkshire Bank branch on Longmeadow Street. It is unclear whether these robberies are connected.
