LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - A 60-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a utility pole on West Street in Ludlow Friday night.
Ludlow Police Sgt. Michael Brennan told 22News, "The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the accident. It was traveling south in the vicinity of 460 West Street and crossed to the opposite side, hit the curbing, a telephone pole and a mailbox."
Sgt. Brennan said the victim suffered serious injuries, but was conscious when he was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. The bike crashed at about 6:50 Friday night.
Police declined to identify the victim, but Sgt. Brennan said he was not far from his home in Ludlow when he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve near Keystone Commons Senior Living Community.
West Street was closed for close to an hour while police investigated the accident.
