WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Military men and women were honored today at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield.
104th fighter wing played host to a "Commanders Call."
Medals were awarded to members of the unit who've gone above and beyond the call of duty.
Major Matt Mutti of East Longmeadow is one of those men.
He told 22News what it means to be honored by his peers, "The meritorious service medal was awarded for my service as the executive officer and it's always great to know your doing a good job and that reinforces it. But it's really the hard work of the men and women in this unit that make the big difference," Mutti said.
Major Mutti was one of seven military men awarded medals for combat action, Legion of Merit, and meritorious service.
