SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Congressman Edward Markey's campaign for the U.S. Senate will have a Springfield presence.
On Friday, there will be an official opening of the Springfield campaign office at 24 Island Pond Rd.
Markey, a Democrat is running for the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by the resignation of John Kerry, who is now Secretary of State.
Markey and fellow Congressman Stephen Lynch will face-off in the Democratic Primary on April 30 th.
Congressman Markey won't be at the opening Friday night of his Springfield campaign office but supporters are invited to stop by between 6-8 p.m.
Three Republicans are also running for the U.S. Senate seat.
