SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - We expect Springfield to choose between MGM and Penn National sometime next month.
As we get closer to a decision, both sides continue to state their case across the city. On Thursday night, MGM representatives talked about future jobs and internships at Springfield College. Working for a casino company doesn't mean you'd be working on a casino floor.
According to My Chau-Pennepacker, MGM senior recruiter, "A lot of people think that we're all gaming, but a lot of it we do finance, accounting, a lot of business areas there's a huge arrays of different areas for the hospitality industry."
MGM says it can create 3000 jobs in Springfield. Earlier this month, Penn National Gaming said it would attempt to fill 90% of its positions with people who live in Springfield.
