CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The Lamcotec company of Monson gave Toys for Tots a big boost Saturday.
For nearly one hour owner Rick Anderson and his employees and their children formed a steady stream of giving.
22News Meteorologist Nick Bannin accompanied one of the two trucks filled with bicycles.
Rick Anderson also gave Toys for Tots a $2500 check. This is Anderson's way of honoring his father who died two years ago.
"We got family, friends, the whole community involved and just had a great big party in January,.. We had a party at Pulaski Park and admission was a toy," said Rick Anderson.
The more bikes and toys that came into the 22News lobby the more the generous Toys for Tots gifts quickly filled the nearby hallways.
Company employees told 22News, it feels so good giving and making certain needy children won't be disappointed Christmas morning.
"What it feels like, that's the greatest part. Be that a little boy or girl under the tree on Christmas morning. One hundred bikes, so there will be 125 kids this Christmas," said Lamcotec employee Vicki Miller.
Just a few days remain in the Toys for Tots drive to make this a happy holiday for kids whose families can't afford to buy them something nice for Christmas.
