SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Saturday was anything but a dog day at the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society in Springfield.
The latest arrival of Dixie Dogs from Montgomery County Texas moved the animals closer to adoption here in the Pioneer Valley.
They're from a part of the country that's overly populated with these animals.
Candy Lash says, "It's always exciting because we know the dogs that come up from the south would have necessarily have in the south, and that is to find wonderful families and people to adopt them and give them great second chances."
Since they first started arriving in Springfield last year, the Dixie Dogs have enjoyed a phenomenal adoption record.
The latest arrivals will be up for adoption in just a few days.
