HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP.com) - All year long Kate's Kitchen provides food for the disadvantaged people of Holyoke. Kate's Kitchen got plenty of help from Holyoke musicians to continue the agencies good work.
Some of Holyoke's best musicians put on a show at the Holyoke lodge of elks.
The admission price was non-perishable food that immediately after their concert was turned over to Kate's Kitchen.
The music for food concert was supposed to have been last week, but the snow storm got in the way.
Organizers told 22News, the people served by Kate's kitchen need this help.
"As teachers we get the opportunity to see a lot of families that are in need. Sometimes it's just a small thing. You know, a can of food, a box of something that notifies them because we see that definitely in our jobs," Musical Director Janet Ryan told 22News.
These Holyoke musicians feel that Sunday's jam session generated enough donated food to make this appeal for Kate's kitchen an annual event.
