SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - There are new offers on the table Tuesday, for a location where Tamerlan Tsarnaev's body can be buried.
Worcester funeral director, Peter Stefan says he has now received at least 120 burial offers from people throughout the U.S. and Canada. The details as to where these offers are coming from have not been released yet. However, 22News knows of at least two. One is from a man in Ohio, who says he's willing to donate an extra burial plot that he has. Another is from Sheikh Abu-Omar Almubarac of Colorado, who says he'll pay for a traditional Muslim burial at a Muslim cemetery in Denver or Bennett. Almubarac says he'll do this, only if the Tsarnaev family can get the body to Denver.
On Monday, Stefan said Tsarnaev's mother told him she wants her son's body returned to Russia. Stefan said he has made calls to Russia, but was unable to get a response from anyone.
