PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - With or without a casino, there are plans to develop the area off the MassPike in Palmer.
Northeast Realty has plans for a 150 million dollar entertainment and shopping venue on the hill off exit 8.
It was planned to go along with a proposal for a Mohegan Sun Massachusetts casino next door, but the first phase, which includes a hotel, restaurant, office and retail space will go on even if Mohegan does not win the license.
According to Stephen Spelman, the attorney for Northeast Realty, "There really isn't much there right now, it's pretty much the only exit you get off and can't find a hotel. If Mohegan doesn't get the license, we're still there all the way 100%."
What's not guaranteed is the second phase of the project. That includes a movie theater, bowling, an amphitheater and other entertainment venues.
