HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - 18-year-old Holyoke resident is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck when crossing Northampton Street in Holyoke Wednesday.
Holyoke Police Sgt. Isaias Cruz told 22News the driver 46-year-old Teresa Justice of Holyoke was charged with driving under the influence and driving in the wrong lane.
The accident happened around 10:40 Wednesday night on Northampton Street, where a man was struck by a gray pickup truck while crossing the road.
Our 22News photographer was standing on Northampton Street when the pedestrian was hit.
The teenager was taken away by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center and is in the intensive care unit in Springfield.
Police have re-opened Route 5 between Washington Avenue and Laurel Street.
