WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) - 22News has an update on the murder of Wilbraham native, Amy Lord.
Police in Boston say 28 year-old Edwin Alemany is considered the only "person of interest" in the case.
According to Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis, Alemany has not been charged; however police are not looking for a second suspect due to lack of evidence.
Investigators are examining DNA and other evidence and are "confident and comfortable" they are on the right track, said Davis.
Alemany was set to be arraigned on Thursday for two separate attacks. He is charged with punching one woman, and then stabbing another on Tuesday morning. These assaults took place on the same day, in the area that Lord was kidnapped and stabbed to death.
Alemany won't be in court anytime soon, however. A psychiatrist told the judge in the case that Alemany is suicidal. He'll spend the next 20 days under evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital.
