SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - More than 43 million people will hit the road to travel to their Thanksgiving destinations over the next few days.
But the roads won't be the only congested places.
Many cooks are already causing traffic in the checkout lines and then their kitchens.
22News visited the Big Y in West Springfield to find out how folks are preparing, and what they're looking forward to the most.
Wali Leonard says, "I love Thanksgiving. The giant meals that last a couple days, I love that. We have a turkey deep fryer. It tastes so good. "
And to make sure you arrive at your destination while the food's still hot, plan your travel accordingly.
Mass DOT encourages drivers to leave in the morning or after 8 o'clock at night to avoid as many delays as possible.
