SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield Department of Public Works has received notification that the re-pavement of Plumtree Road, from Bradley Road to Wilbraham Road, will start September 5th.
According to the Mayor’s office Jim Leydon, the milling operation, the removal of current pavement, will start Thursday, September 5th, and should be completed on Monday, September 9th.
When the milling operation is finished, work on utilities and drainage will start and take about 3 to 4 weeks to finish. The final pavement of the road is expected to occur in mid-October, said Leydon.
Plumtree Road may be closed for the next few weeks due to drainage issues that are being addressed near the golf course.
The construction will take place between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Please be advised that temporary road closures may occur and delays are possible; residents are asked to seek alternative routes during the construction.
