SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Several hundred young people mostly in their 20s held a protest demonstration in Springfield on Saturday.
Demonstrating in the parking lot of the All Souls Church in Springfield's North End, the protesters placards spelled out the social issues that brought them together.
The rally focused on worker's rights and increased wages.
Jacelyn Silverlighe told 22News, “We really believe that all people in this country, we believe that workers deserve dignity and great working conditions in this country and we're here to lend our voices and our bodies to this effort.”
The demonstrators also listed immigration reform as a major concern.
Some described themselves as immigrant rights organizers.
