SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield was home to a Puerto Rican Festival Sunday.
The second day of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center Festival at Springfield's Riverfront Park. The music and the authentic Latino foods were major attractions for the Hispanic families who live in Springfield.
But some Holyoke resident came to see what the Springfield festival was all about.
"I like the concerts, I like the new view they have here, I like the remodeling renovations of the park; this is my first time here actually," said Raymond Rodriguez of Holyoke. "I like the rice and beans, I like the pork, pretty much every Spanish food I like."
Xavier Rivera of Springfield said, "It's a hot day, you can go outside, eat a lot of food, see new things, try new stuff."
The Puerto Rican Cultural Center notified 22News, this festival is the answer to growing requests from the growing Hispanic population in Springfield for events such as this two day festival.
