SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The City of Springfield has put out electronic signs advising drivers of planned construction project near the corner of Allen Street and Bradley Road. The problem is that one of the signs was misspelled.
22News received messages through our Report It feature notifying us that the sign on Allen Street near the intersection of Harkness Avenue warned drivers "Road work ahaed!" instead of "ahead."
The error has since been fixed.
The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission plans to begin a construction project on Monday which will install new water and sewer mains on both Allen Street and Bradley Road. While the work is going on, traffic will be reduced to a single lane, and there may be detours.
The work will be happening between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.
The project is expected to be completed by August 20.
