SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Keeping our pets cool is a concern during these hot days.
Cady Lash from Dakin Humane Society told 22News some tips to keep your pets safe during the hot weather. Keep the air conditioner on for them while you go to work, put down an extra bowl of water to help keep them hydrated, and avoid bringing your pet in the car.
"Of course you want to make very sure that you do not transport your animal in a car and take them for a ride on a hot day and leave them in a car, even for a few minutes it can be deadly," said Lash.
If your pet will be outdoors she recommends they have access to plenty of water and shaded areas.
