WORCESTER, Mass. (WWLP) - You first heard this story on 22News at 5 on Monday. An Ohio man wants to donate a burial plot for Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
22News traveled to Worcester Monday where Tsarnaev's body has been since last Friday.
Rejection after rejection after rejection. Funeral Director Peter Stefan of Putnam, Graham and Mahoney Funeral Parlors in Worcester asked multiple cemeteries in Massachusetts to bury accused Boston Marathon bomber , Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
All of them said no.
However, Monday afternoon, one Ohio man said he is willing to donate an extra burial plot he has at Crown Hill Cemetery in Vienna, Ohio.
He didn't want his name used, but he said, "I've been trying to sell it for years now, and no takers. So I can only believe that this is god's promise. He waited for this kindness to be shown and that's all. It's about doing the right thing."
Some people disagree. A Worcester resident told 22News, "Because he killed an eight year old boy. Alright. The kid didn't even get to see his future. So why should this guy rest in peace over here."
With American flags and blue and yellow ribbons, many people have been protesting outside the funeral home on Main Street in Worcester, but some people told 22news no matter what Tamerlan Tsarnaev did, he deserves a proper burial.
David Miller of Worcester said, "A human being's body deserves to be treated with respect and dignity as a human being. This man may have done some horrible things, but he was a father. He was a husband."
No answer yet from the Tsarnaev family or the funeral director in Worcester.
22News found out Monday night that a mosque in Denver Colorado has offered to bury Tsarnaev's body as well.
