SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - South Hadley was another western Massachusetts community that held a Memorial Day parade Monday honoring soldiers who died in battle.
Veteran groups and civic organizations marched from South Hadley High School to Town Hall.
Veterans who marched and lined the parade route bowed their heads in respect to fallen comrades.
Bill Schester of South Hadley told 22News, "It's to remember those who have fallen from the Civil War right up until the present and South Hadley has certainly done its share. We lost several people, seventy odd people since then."
South Hadley was among the many western Massachusetts cities and towns that observed Memorial Day with a solemn parade and memorial service.
