SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Students at American International College are studying a new technology that can help manufacturing workers.
This technology will help reduce injuries, increase productivity and decrease costs in the workplace.
Physical therapy students evaluated the level of muscle activity with the exoskeletal assisting arms using electromyography.
They are working on the project for the toy and game maker Hasbro and Equipois. One student explains how it all works.
"Its an anti-gravity exoskeleton for your arm and it keeps your arm upright and it enables you to use less muscle in the trapezius area," said Physical Therapy Student Michael Srokowski from American International College.
The students will go back into Hasbro to create a Cost Benefit Study to use the equipment at different levels.
