SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - 22News is working for you with a warning about ice safety.
The executive director of the Springfield parks department says despite recent temperatures, it is still not safe to venture out onto city ponds and lakes.
Patrick Sullivan says because of underground streams in most of the city's lakes and ponds, a think enough layer of ice has not formed for safe skating.
