SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Palmer Renewable Energy has reportedly filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the city of Springfield.
Springfield city councilor Tim Rooke told 22news that the city was served this Friday afternoon.
Rooke says the suit was filed after the city council revoked Palmer Renewable Energy's permit to build a biomass plant in Springfield.
Rooke and councilor Katerie Walsh were the only two members of the council who voted "not" to revoke the permit.
Councilor Rooke did not know the exact amount that the lawsuit was seeking, but said it may be more than 50 million dollars.
