SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield Police are working to take more guns off the streets.
Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News the department is holding a regional gun buyback day on March 2nd.
Anyone in Hampden County can drop off firearms at Springfield Police Department Headquarters at 130 Pearl Street between 10am and 5pm.
The program will be funded through private donations. The Hampden County District Attorney's Office is also involved.
Some of the specifics are still being worked out.
Sgt. Delaney says more details will be released as the event gets closer.
