SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A suspect is on the loose following a bank robbery in downtown Springfield.
Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that around 2:15 Tuesday afternoon, a man walked into the United Bank at State and Main Streets and approached a teller. The suspect implied that he was armed, and told the teller to “give it up.” He took an undisclosed amount of cash, before running away eastbound on State Street.
The suspect is described as a black man in his 40’s, about 5’8” tall with a medium build and a “sunken face.” He was wearing a white jacket, gray shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers at the time of the robbery.
