LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - The eastbound Ludlow rest area on the Massachusetts Turnpike has re-opened following an investigation into a suspicious package there.
Trooper Todd Nolan of State Police Media Relations told 22News that the State Police Bomb Squad was called to the service plaza around 1:15 P.M.
Jennifer Mieth of the State Fire Marshal's Office told 22News that someone had left a suitcase near the trash at the service plaza, causing the scare. After the suitcase was checked, it was determined that there was nothing harmful inside.
