SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield Technical Community College Board of Trustees recently approved funding of nearly a million dollars in scholarships for over 1,000 students who demonstrate financial need.
To qualify for the STCC Trustees Scholarship students must be registered for a minimum of six credits, have filed a FAFSA, have no prior bachelor's degree and be a Massachusetts resident.
This need-based scholarship is meant to reduce school loan debt and is awarded to students who receive little or no Pell Grant or Mass Grant funding.
Last year, over 1,400 students were awarded Trustees Scholarships.
Approximately $2 million has been awarded to STCC students since the beginning of the Trustees Scholarship fund in 2010.
