SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield parents learned Tuesday night about different options their children have for high schools.
During the information session at Van Sickle Middle School, eighth graders and their parents met with teachers and administrators of Springfield public schools.
One parent told 22News they wanted to explore all the options before committing to one school because each school offers different programs.
Tracy Kittrell said, "Putnam has the newest technology because it's the newest school, but I'm partial to Central. My oldest went to Central High School, and I'm familiar with that school.
The selection process begins in December.
Students rank high schools based on their preferences, and based on points they accumulate through different programs, they'll find out if they get their first choice school.
