HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - The annual stuff the bus campaign for children in need kicked off at 10am inside the Holyoke Mall.
Saturday is the first day you can bring donations to the collection site in front of the Target entrance.
United Way of Pioneer Valley and Peter Pan Bus Lines are launching this campaign for the fourth year in a row to help homeless children in the Hampden County Area.
Their goal is to stuff a bus with school supplies such as pens, pencils, glue sticks, pocket folders, binder, highlighters, rulers and lined paper.
"Our goal is to make sure these children have the books, and supplies that they'll need to get started in September," said Dora Robinson from the Pioneer Valley United Way.
Beau Williams told 22News, "It feels good because there are a lot of kids who don't have school supplies, aren't able to get school supplies."
United Way of Pioneer Valley already has brand new backpacks for children in need.
If you can't make it Saturday, the campaign will continue for the next three weeks.
Next Saturday, July 20, the collection site here at the Holyoke Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. as well as one in Chicopee at the Staples parking lot on Memorial Drive.
Then Saturday July 27 and August 3, the Holyoke Mall collection site will be available again.
The Holyoke Mall will also accept cash donations throughout the month of July at the customer service desk for this campaign.
