SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - With Memorial Day just around the corner, many people already have summer vacation on their minds.
But not everyone will be packing their bags this summer. Many people here in western Mass. say that they don't really have any big vacation plans. Financial concerns were cited as the top reason for holding families back.
"With the gas prices so high and hotels so high, it's hard to travel further with the economy the way it is...", said Christine Lavoie of Springfield.
"I usually try to stay local. The farthest I'll travel is maybe to Plum Island, on the North Shore", said Christine Suprenant of Springfield.
"I'm most excited about going to Six Flags", exclaimed 6 year-old Justice Lavoie.
