SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - About 80 residents in the vicinity of Sumner Ave. were without power for most of night.
It was the 4th time in 5 weeks. But this time, the outage was planned.
Western Mass Electric Spokesperson Ashley Duncan told 22News crews are making permanent repairs on some of the underground cables which were exposed to water.
It was those faulty cables that were causing the intermittent outages that affected residents, businesses and even the traffic lights.
Duncan told 22News the city supplied generators to keep the traffic lights on while the permanent repairs were made.
The power is expected to be back on and stay on by 5:00AM Thursday.
