SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It was good to be Italian in Springfield on Saturday night. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish hosted their annual Taste of Italy event.
This was the 18th year they've continued the tradition, which celebrates Italian culture, food, and entertainment. Parishioners who like to cook, as well as Italian restaurants and businesses in the area lay out their best dishes from different regions of Italy.
You certainly don't have to be Italian to enjoy yourself at a Taste of Italy. One Brimfield man checked it out for the first time and went home well-nourished.
“Oh the food real good you got to try everything. Even the desserts you don't even have to try the foods just the desserts. You can see I have a big gut,” said Clifford Norton.
Pastor Robert White told 22News they're still amazed how much the Taste of Italy continues to grow year after year.
