NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - These students will appear in televised public service announcements, to help raise awareness about sexual dangers on Western Massachusetts college campuses.
Susan Loehn and Mary Kotiela organized this effort for the Northwestern district attorney's office.
"There's just a lot of misunderstanding about what sexual assault is. The message we want to get out is you have to have consent before you have sexual intercourse, the difference between rape and sex is consent. "
The public service announcements for example show proper behavior and what's not at a campus party. The student actors told 22News, they're glad to have been part of the project.
"I'm happy about being in this video chat, it teaches people how to act at parties."
Mary Carey of the district attorney's office told 22News, the anti rape public service videos will be distributed to on line outlets which many students might watch.
The PSA's will also be put in the hands of The Public access TV outlets across the Pioneer Valley.
