SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It's unclear Wednesday night whether Peter Pan Bus Lines will end up moving its operation into the new Union Station when it's finished.
In March, bus line owner Peter Picknelly said he wouldn't move the bus company over if Penn National Gaming wasn't selected as the casino developer.
Picknelly says the city has told him how his current property will be used first. "The last thing Springfield needs is a vacant piece of property across from a 75-million-dollar brand new building, so what we've said to the city is we will move over; you need to find a reuse of this property, a reuse that's best for this city."
Picknelly isn't saying one way or another yet. Union Station is expected to reopen in 2015.
As for Picknelly's future, he says he will not team up with developers in other communities, and doesn't anticipate partnering with MGM either.
