AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - Coach Kevin Morris wants to score a victory over diabetes.
UMass Head Football coach and his wife, Rebecca are again serving as honorary co-chairs for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's annual "Walk to Cure Diabetes" at Six Flags New England on Sunday, October 16th.
It is a cause close to the Morris' hearts.
Rebecca has been living with Type 1 diabetes for 12 years. Their son,
11 year-old Ryan, was just diagnosed with the disease last year. Several other family members also have diabetes.
Rebecca Morris says living with diabetes is challenging. That's why she and her husband are so passionate about finding a cure for diabetes and are so committed to the annual walk that last year raised thousands of dollars.
The "Walk to Cure Diabetes", helps funds diabetes research.
You can take part in the walk either as an individual or team. Those raising $50 or more will receive free admission the day of the walk to Six Flags New England.
Members of the UMass football team will also be at the walk to sign autographs.
